Building Student Mathematical Thinking through Cultural and Community Inquiry

Focusing on optimizing the curriculum in teaching, this workshop will emphasize how teachers work to build mathematical understanding alongside cultural competency and student agency. Attendees are introduced to a math and cultural inquiry model (The 4 We’s) and the teacher moves that support rich student engagement through cultural and mathematical inquiry.
