A national STEM Learning pathway

Teaching Math for Hope and Impact

Teaching Math for Hope and Impact is a national certificate pathway designed educators committed to realizing mathematics outcomes and impact for young people and their communities. Prioritizing four core impact practices—Immerse, Adapt, Amplify, and Mobilize—practitioners and leaders create learning experiences that honor human experience and community wisdom, using mathematics as a tool for meaning, agency, and impact.

A National Fellowship for Educators Who See Math as Hope Work

Hope work in math is not a technique.
It is human work. Serious work. Sustained work.

At the Inspire Institute for Math & Science, we partner with educators who are ready to design mathematics rooted in lived experience, community, culture, and the futures students imagine for themselves.

We are a small, boutique institute by design.
This allows us to cultivate a network of educators who are aligned in purpose, committed to humanizing mathematics, and willing to do the deep reflective work this approach requires.

If you feel called into this work, we invite you to interview for our next cohort.

Immerse. Adapt. Amplify. Mobilize

This pathway helps educators move beyond surface strategies toward a deep, intentional practice using four powerful mathematics teaching practices which build responsive and authentic engagement from students in classrooms. The model IAAM (Immerse, Adapt, Amplify and Mobilize) is anchored in real-world inquiry, student and community wisdom and agency, and purposeful authentic, rigorus math modeling that connects.

Who Are We Looking For

This cohort is for people who believe mathematics is more than content — that it is lived, felt, created, and experienced in community. We welcome educators, leaders, and researchers who want to explore that work with honesty and intention.
If you feel the pull toward more human, more relevant, more impactful mathematics — you belong in this space
  • A teacher seeking deeper purpose in your practice
  • A coach or leader supporting others in designing meaningful learning
  • A school or district STEM leader looking to shift culture
  • A university faculty member preparing future educators
  • A researcher studying lived mathematics, belonging, or community-rooted STEM
